It is a pleasure to announce the revival of The Buddhist Forum, the lecture series organised by the Centre of Buddhist Studies at SOAS.
This year's programme will start on 5 Dec with Dr Eric Greene (University of Bristol) giving a talk entitled:
'Trance, or Mind-training? The Influence of 19th Century Debates about Religious Experience on the Western interpretation of Buddhist Visionary Meditation Practices'

All lectures will take place at Russell Square, Main College Building, Kamran Djam Lecture Theatre, 5-6.30 pm.
Note also that the launch of Tullio Lobetti's book, Ascetic Practices in Japanese Religion (Routledge, 2013) will be held on January 9 at the Royal Asiatic Society, 6-7.30pm. This event will be jointly organised by the SOAS and the Centre for the Study of Japanese Religions.
